Sony A7 III and 85mm f/1.8.
I totally lucked out. I'm at the WPPI convention and managed to get my hands on a production A7 III and have a real review complete with real sample image files.
I'll be updating and adding more samples throughout the week.
If the page doesn't load, just keep hitting your browser's Refresh button until it all comes in.

"Please try again later" errors?
I'm having problems with my hosting company - and they can't figure out the problem.
If you get this error, just keep hitting your "Refresh" button and it will eventually come in.
If you can offer any light on what my hosting company needs to fix - or a suggestion of a great hosting company and what sort of plan I need - I'd love to know. Right now you guys read 200,000 pages and 600 GB of data each day - more when something cool comes out. I know nothing about servers; I use Dreamweaver and simply upload via its own FTP as I make changes. Of course if you work at a hosting company, let me know.
Thanks!
Ken

Loving my Canon 5DSR

Ryan at his Valentine's Day Party. (Canon 5DSR, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L II at 50mm at f/3.2 at 1/125 at Auto ISO 800, Perfectly Clear V3.) bigger or full resolution or camera-original © file.
It's more to carry than most, but my Canon 5DSR always nails snaps at school under whatever funny mixed fluorescent lighting there may be - and the bokeh from my Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L II always looks great, as well as being ultra-sharp. Goodness, just look at Ryan's eyes in the full resolution file. This is how we get 3-D images, not with stereoscopy, but by exploiting sharp and soft. (Stereoscopy is how we in Hollywood refer to what consumers call "3D;" 3D in Hollywood means something else.) That's why "3D" TV died before it went on sale; you get 3D images with lighting, color and texture; not with stereoscopy. Stereoscopy has always been a prank; done poorly all you get is what look like flat cut-outs moving around.

Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G.
No big deal; I just updated prices and made the page fit mobile better.
Nikon still sells this lens brand new for $600 less than the VR version. Both lenses are ultrasharp, this one weighs less and differs only in not having VR. Heck, get this lens used and save about $800 if you know How to Win at eBay, or save $1,400 off the price of the VR — and get the same pictures.

Radioactive Lens?
Someone wrote me, scared that the Internet said these lenses are horribly radioactive, especially at the back.
Well, I tested mine, and even holding it right up to my Geiger Counter there's no more radiation than my normal background.
You always have to check for yourself because no company will ever admit this if it is. I've tested some LEICA SUMMICRONs from the 1950s, and they are still radioactive — even though LEICA has denied this for over 50 years.
LAST DAYS: Photo Contest w/$10,000 First Prize
1X is running a new photo contest, and first prize is $10,000. There is also a special $1,000 prize for which I will pick the winner. The last day to enter was January 31st, but when I asked since I hadn't mentioned this contest in months, 1X agreed to extend entries for another day or two.
It's not my contest; it's 1X,' so see all the details and enter at their site.
Good luck!

Help me help you
I support my growing family through this website, as crazy as it might seem.
If you find this
as helpful as a book you might have had to buy or a workshop you may
have had to take, feel free to help me continue helping everyone.
If you've gotten your gear through one of my links or helped otherwise, you're family. It's great people like you who allow me to keep adding to this site full-time. Thanks!
If you haven't helped yet, please do, and consider helping me with a gift of $5.00.
The biggest help is when you use any of these links when you get anything, regardless of the country in which you live. It costs you nothing, and is this site's, and thus my family's, biggest source of support. eBay is always a gamble, but all the other places always have the best prices and service, which is why I've used them since before this website existed. I recommend them all personally.
Thanks for reading!
