Monitor Audio Radius 90

4" Executive Desktop Speaker

Monitor Audio Radius 90

Monitor Audio Radius 90 looking much larger than life; it fits in the palm of my hand! (8 Ω, 4" aluminum woofer, 1" metal tweeter, 4.5" wide × 7.5" tall × 5.5" deep. The newest version sells for about $650 a pair at Crutchfield, while this older version sells for about $180/pair used (2024) or $200/pair used in 2013). I got mine at this link directly to them at eBay (see How to Win at eBay).

These are very well made little speakers. The tweeters have a strong +11 dB resonance at 20 kHz which probably annoys dogs, and otherwise are very neutral. These are first-class speakers made in England.

I’d get these for style for use on an executive desktop; they’re wonderful in real wood, but so tiny that they only reproduce half the music. They cut off below about 150 Hz, not much deeper than an iPhone 16 Pro Max. These need subwoofers to get the Hi-Fi sound that they do so well above 200 Hz.

Help Me Help You       top

I support my growing family through this website, as crazy as it might seem.

The biggest help is when you use any of these links when you get anything. It costs you nothing, and is this site's, and thus my family's, biggest source of support. These places always have the best prices and service, which is why I've used them since before this website existed. I recommend them all personally.

If you find this page as helpful as a book you might have had to buy or a workshop you may have had to take, feel free to help me continue helping everyone.

If you've gotten your gear through one of my links or helped otherwise, you're family. It's great people like you who allow me to keep adding to this site full-time. Thanks!

If you haven't helped yet, please do, and consider helping me with a gift of $5.00.
